Having hit my forties I wanted to tick a few places of my bucket list, the good old British summer weather being pants, camping was pretty much out.
Grotty hotels averaging £50 a night room only I spotted the YHA at £29, how bad could it be I thought?
We were greeted with smart, friendly and clean hostels, modern furniture, comfy beds and free wifi.
You can buy breakfast for a extra £5, meals / snacks for under £10
We shared a lovely pizza and chips for £10 in York, it was tasty, looked beautifully and all fresh.
What I like... YHA is a charity, it employs many people and a lot of them young adults
YHA host's many school trips, making affordable memories for many kids
They have a green policy, we all need to look after the environment
I adore the fact that a lot of YHA are in old historic buildings. history and function, I love it - Houses should be lived in!
I am converted and will be coming a member of the YHA before booking my next lot of adventures!
no more damp camping for me, YHA is the way forward..
In our 1030 mile round trip we stayed at 3 YHA's - Ilam, York & Haworth.
York £29 - On suite double
Ilam £35 - On Suite twin
Haworth £39 - Shared Double
So if you are longing for adventures but the cost holding you back, I urged you to try a YHA property
